This car is #481 of only 500 produced. These cars out performed expensive european cars in the corners while killing mustang, camaro, trans am. 0 to 60 and in the 1/4 mile. With 175 hp and a curb weight just under 2300 lbs , and race car inspired suspension it was definitely a car ahead of its time. These where the first of the limited production cars built by shelby america and sold by select dodge dealers. It was such a great car and a big hit it allowed shelby to produce many more shelby dodge models for years to come. The car was originally sold 8/19/1986 @ del amo dodge in torrance california. Then later sold to the second owner located in vista california. They had loved and cared for the car. At some point they had the car repainted and did not reinstall the shelby graphics. The car was featured in the book " hot cars" the encyclopedia world history of cars. I have the slip sheets of the omni along with a letter from the printing company to the second owner thanking them for letting them put the car in the book. Then the car was sold to the third owner and shipped to houston texas 8/10/00. He reinstalled the shelby decals and also spent big bucks on service work along with some minor performance upgrades. I do have all the receipts for the work that was done. The parts that they installed where inspired by the mopar action magazine spring of 96 tech special "the little engine that could"... And yes i have a copy of that magazine to go with the car. The car received a 2. 5 inch exhaust system with a flowmaster muffler, indy intercooler, bosch adjustable fuel psi regulator, +40 injectors, mopar perfomance logic module,255lph fuel pump, and a heavy duty daytona clutch. Nothing too crazy, just enough to keep the car on top the competition it is 2001 at this point. Later the car was sold in 2007 to the 4th owner which is a friend of mine. He is very known in the fwd mopar community. While he owned the car he attended sdac 17 and took 3rd place at sdac 25. He owned and enjoyed the car for 10 years and then sold car to me in 2017. The car just recived a mobil 1 oil change, runs and drives great, tires are like new. It has an aftermarket cd player, the paint job has some dirt in it that could be sanded and buffed out but it still shows well. It is very nice car for 31 years old plus its a rust free california/texas car. The odometer shows 55k miles. It has most likely rolled over and has 155k on the car.
